Waypoint Homes Realty Trust believes home ownership is not just for private individuals. Recently formed in 2013, Waypoint Homes is a real estate investment trust, or REIT, that intends to build a portfolio of leasable single-family homes in select major markets, including Chicago, Atlanta, and Phoenix, as well as cities in California and Florida. The REIT had acquired some 690 homes and has plans in the works to buy an additional properties. The REIT will be externally managed by WREG (Waypoint Real Estate Group, LLC and Waypoint Homes, Inc .). Through WREG, the REIT will acquire, renovate, lease, maintain, and manage properties. In mid-2013 Waypoint Homes filed to go public.
